A Disappointing Stay: One Night at the Andaz Maui

Maui is a dream destination, and with its reputation for luxury, I had high expectations for my stay at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort. Unfortunately, my one-night stay left me feeling underwhelmed. While the location was undeniably beautiful, the experience fell short due to multiple issues that made the stay far less enjoyable than expected.

The Room: A Series of Issues

Upon arriving, I was eager to unwind and enjoy the resort’s famous accommodations. However, the electric blinds in the room were broken, requiring a call to maintenance right before bed. The next morning, I realized that the TV was also broken, and again, I reached out to maintenance. Unlike the blinds, which were eventually fixed, maintenance never came to address the TV issue, leaving us without one for the stay

Noise Disruptions

Our room was situated directly above the restaurant, and while I anticipated some ambient noise, I didn’t expect to be woken up by the sound of clattering plates and breakfast service below. For a resort that prides itself on tranquility, this was an unfortunate oversight in room placement.

The Positives: The Location

The Andaz Maui sits on one of the most beautiful stretches of Wailea Beach, and the resort’s overall aesthetic is modern and stylish. The property itself is stunning, with lush landscaping and impressive ocean views. The pool views were also amazing.

Final Thoughts

At check-out, I expressed my concerns about the broken blinds, the unresolved TV issue, and the noise disruptions, but unfortunately, no one seemed particularly concerned or eager to address the situation. For a resort of this caliber, I expected a more attentive response and at least an acknowledgment of the inconvenience.

For the price and reputation, I expected exceptional service and a seamless stay, but instead, I encountered frustrating maintenance issues and disruptive noise. While the location and design of the property are undeniable highlights, the lack of attention to detail made my visit a disappointment rather than a luxury escape.

Would I return? Based on this experience, probably not—at least not without assurances that these issues have been addressed. If you're looking for a stay in Wailea, I would recommend booking at the Wailea Beach Resort - Marriott, which is next door and offers a more reliable luxury experience.
